Challenge:
MCH is a campus of historically significant buildings circa 1931 thru 1933. Over the years the first floor had many renovation projects which all end at a corridor that is the main spine of the building. We were to integrate four public spaces with the first floor. The design was to be aesthetically sensitive to the Lombardy Romanesque style of the existing building, while providing durability from the extensive wheel chair and cart traffic.
Process:
This was a publically bid project. There were 16 separate contractors on the project, including the Hospital's own construction staff.
