Result:

The design accommodated the new functions, while maintaining the sanctuary structure as the dominate feature. The addition of 30,000 square feet was accomplished with simple forms that radiated off the Basilica space used for gatherings. In order to break up the large massing required for multipurpose space, ancillary functions were finished with a combination of materials to provide visual interest.
