Back in 1998 my wife and I decided to build our dream home. after talking with several architect firms, we pick Architectura because of two reason. 1) We liked the designs they had already done and 2) they really listen to what we wanted in the Home. We got everything we wanted and loved going though the process with them. We still live in the house and more than please that we pick Architectura.

We have worked with Ms. Jennifer Takatch from this firm for three projects in our home. We first met Ms. Takatch when an architect colleague of hers recommended her to work on an extensive renovation. She helped design a large cantilevered bay window which effectively converted our cramped 1950’s bathroom into a spacious, well laid out, contemporary one. She has always been very professional in her contacts and relationship with us. She made pre-project visits to our home each time to assess the site and discuss what we wanted to accomplish. She is quite knowledgeable and her suggestions have always been informative and creative. Some of these included information about advanced lighting, functional layouts and color. She is well informed about available resources and reliable, conscientious suppliers. Ms. Takatch consulted with us at each step as she developed her plans and made sure we were satisfied with the final product. She always completed the planning and design stage in a timely manner and provided detailed drawings. She developed a good rapport with our contractor and responded quickly to any problems that arose or were discovered during the construction. Her comprehensive plans proved to be quite helpful in resolving any disagreement or misunderstanding with the contractor in a manner satisfactory to all. We have enjoyed working with her and highly recommend her to others.

We had collected architectural parts for many years and we wanted to use these antique pieces to build a small cabin in our back yard. We wanted a nice little room that we could play in, entertain people and have a fire in the Winter. Steve and Jennifer Takatch came over one day and while we were sitting in our horrible back yard. We told them what parts we had and what we wanted to build. It all started on a napkin. We were limited to a small structure because of the small size of our lot. We made a list of the sizes of our windows and they made a sketch of what it could look like. Our neighbor the contractor Patrice Rayton agreed to build it for us and the end result with much consultation from Jennifer and Steve was the most incredible 10 X 16 beautifully designed small building anyone could ever dream of, using mostly recycled parts including leaded and stained glass windows, a beveled glass gumwood door, oak porch columns, and recycled cedar decking. We were thrilled with the end result and highly recommend this firm.

Numerous times they have come up with a solution to a problem for a customer of ours that I couldn’t have conceived of. They are engaging, personable and always fun to work with.

Architectura did an amazing job designing my dream home. It was a challenging job – part renovation, part new build. We wanted to keep some of the original house, but add an extensive addition. They took our vision and improved upon it. It is more beautiful than I could have imagined. They were wonderful!

Jennifer Takatch assisted us with the architectural plans for our addition/kitchen renovation project and provided additional advice regarding interior design selections, such as tile, as well as a formal plan for the electrical outlets, lighting, etc. She is very knowledgeable, professional and really listens. I felt that she made a real effort to get a sense of our style and needs and to respond accordingly in her drawings and advice. She is also very good about meeting deadlines and doing what she says she will do. Finally, she is a really nice person and a pleasure to work with!
