Maplewood Nature Center
Location: Rochester, New York Landscape Architect: EDR Summary: The City of Rochester is one of 18 cities selected for a program titled “Connecting Kids to Nature”. The City has selected the existing one-story structure in Maplewood Park, along with the adjacent parkland to study for this purpose. The existing one-story building presently has 4,600 s.f. It is located adjacent to a large parking lot and pond. It is also located near the Genesee River, Seneca Park Zoo, and a corridor on Lake Avenue that is planned for redevelopment. The project site is part of Frederick Law Olmstead Park.
