Summary:

Replacing an existing family cottage rarely comes without heart felt trepidation.  The proposed new design was to include space that this family of four has come to appreciate and expect as “lake-living” residents.  Family gatherings, entertaining and hospitality when not on the lake were design elements that were incorporated.  Lakeside covered porches, and four season dining and gathering spaces enhance the overall grace and charm of the new cottage.

Second floor bedrooms were centered on a shared gathering room with lakeside balcony that the family uses regularly for star-and- lake gazing.  Some small components were salvaged from the original cottage that were incorporated into the new construction. 

The detached garage was included in the construction refresh.
